Primary Purpose:
The Director, Business Development - Enterprise Solutions is responsible for driving revenue growth by developing new business opportunities and expanding strategic relationships with enterprise and national accounts.
This role leverages our clients portfolio of energy, infrastructure, and facility solutions to solve customer challenges, generate new revenue streams, and build long-term partnerships. The position is accountable for pipeline development, opportunity management, and achieving sales growth objectives through a consultative, solution-focused approach.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute business development strategies that drive revenue growth and expand our clients presence in target markets.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within enterprise, national account, and strategic customer segments.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, referrals, industry relationships, and market research.
- Establish and cultivate relationships with key decision-makers and executive stakeholders to uncover customer challenges and position value-driven solutions.
- Lead the full business development cycle from prospect identification and qualification through proposal development, negotiation, and contract execution.
- Create and deliver compelling business cases that demonstrate operational, financial, and sustainability benefits to customers.
- Consistently achieve or exceed revenue, pipeline, and new business development objectives.
- Identify emerging market trends, customer needs, competitive activity, and growth opportunities to support strategic business initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized solutions that address customer objectives and drive long-term value.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to prospective customers by taking a consultative approach to solving business challenges.
- Represent the Company at industry events, conferences, trade associations, and networking functions to generate leads and strengthen market presence.
- Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, opportunity tracking, and CRM documentation.
- Act as a champion for growth by bringing new ideas, pursuing untapped opportunities, and driving expansion into new markets and customer segments.
- Demonstrate a high level of initiative, accountability, and ownership for generating and closing new business opportunities.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7+ years of direct business development, enterprise sales, national account management, or strategic account experience.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth, developing new markets, and securing new business opportunities.
- Demonstrated success building and expanding executive-level customer relationships.
- Strong consultative selling and solution development skills, with the ability to identify customer needs and create strategic growth opportunities.
- Self-starter with a hunter mindset, strong initiative, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Growth-oriented professional who thrives on identifying market opportunities, opening new accounts, and expanding the Company's presence in emerging markets.
- Results-driven with strong business acumen, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and pipeline management tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience selling EV charging infrastructure, EVSE solutions, fleet electrification solutions, commercial or industrial lighting solutions, and/or battery energy storage systems (BESS).
- Experience selling electrical services, maintenance programs, energy efficiency projects, or facility infrastructure solutions.
- Candidates with experience in both EV charging, lighting solutions, and electrical infrastructure are strongly preferred.
- Existing relationships with large national retail and transportation/fleet customers, utility, commercial real estate, data centers, logistics, manufacturing, or related industries.
- Experience selling turnkey project-based solutions.
- Knowledge of EV charging technologies, LED lighting and lighting controls, utility incentive programs, electrification initiatives, and energy technologies.
Amount of Contact with Others
Constant communication with customers, prospects, strategic partners, industry organizations, and internal cross-functional teams.
Work Schedule
Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST
Travel Expectations
Up to 40% travel, including customer visits, industry conferences, trade shows, and business development activities.
