Senior Manager, Strategic Partnerships

I’m currently working on a Senior Manager – Partnerships opportunity with a leading energy technology business operating at the forefront of distributed energy, demand response and grid flexibility.


This is a senior, commercially focused role for someone who understands the intersection of energy, technology, automation and customer-side energy infrastructure, and can turn strategic partnerships into measurable business growth.


The role:

  • Own and develop a portfolio of strategic technology and channel partnerships across the C&I energy ecosystem
  • Identify and build relationships with technology providers across energy management, controls & automation, lighting, HVAC/mechanical systems, on-site generation and DER
  • Develop and execute a long-term technology and integration partner strategy
  • Identify new market opportunities where strategic alliances can unlock new revenue streams and customer solutions
  • Lead partnership negotiations, commercial agreements and ongoing relationship management
  • Build joint go-to-market, sales and lead-generation strategies with strategic partners
  • Work closely with sales, engineering, operations, marketing and senior leadership to ensure partnerships translate into commercial results
  • Develop business cases and value propositions for new alliance opportunities
  • Establish partnership success plans, KPIs and performance targets, monitoring delivery and commercial impact
  • Act as the senior point of contact between the business and key technology partners
  • Enable partner sales teams through training, presentations, product knowledge and sales engagement
  • Represent the business externally through senior-level meetings, presentations and industry engagements


What they’re looking for:

  • 5+ years in sales, business development, strategic partnerships or alliance management
  • Experience within energy management software, controls/automation, DER, distributed energy or adjacent energy technology
  • Established network across the C&I energy and technology ecosystem
  • Strong understanding of demand response, energy markets, utilities and distributed energy
  • Technical understanding of automation and controls, ideally including OpenADR
  • Commercially strong with proven experience negotiating and closing complex partnership agreements
  • Comfortable operating across sales, engineering, operations and executive stakeholders
  • Ability to build relationships at both the client and technology/vendor level
  • Strong communicator with the presence to engage senior stakeholders and represent the business externally
