Technical Sales Representative – EV Charging & Solar


Role Purpose

  • Support overall business objectives by meeting sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Focus on the following sales verticals and territories:
  • Commercial Solar (Photovoltaics) and EV Charging solutions across New Mexico
  • Residential Grid-Tied Solar in the Greater Albuquerque area

Sales Responsibilities

(Including but not limited to)

  • Schedule and manage appointments to develop client relationships and generate sales opportunities
  • Attend networking events and contribute to marketing initiatives to achieve sales targets
  • Maintain and update CRM systems (e.g., NetSuite) with leads and opportunities
  • Manage estimating tools and pricing databases
  • Create estimates and proposals using industry software (e.g., Helioscope, Energy Toolbase, SolarGraph)
  • Oversee financing applications and ensure compliance requirements are met
  • Prepare contracts and manage execution/signing processes
  • Maintain accurate pricing records and documentation
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure smooth handover of secured projects
  • Take ownership of individual KPIs, including:
  • Achieving target profit margins
  • Meeting project timelines
  • Driving overall sales performance

Design, Client & Project Responsibilities

(Including but not limited to)

  • Conduct site assessments and manage scheduling for project evaluations
  • Provide required information to engineering teams (electrical/structural) for project approvals
  • Create equipment and materials lists within internal systems
  • Organize and maintain digital project documentation for cross-team access
  • Support project delivery, close-out, and ongoing customer care
  • Provide design input and guidance to installation teams
  • Identify and communicate site-specific safety considerations
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong consultative sales skills with the ability to ask the right questions and gather key information
  • Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage multiple projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across diverse audiences
  • Team-oriented mindset with a strong understanding of the broader business objectives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Google Workspace, and design/visual tools (e.g., Photoshop)
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities
  • Strong customer service, communication, and coordination skills
  • Interest in design and attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
  • Valid driver’s licence

Preferred Experience & Certifications:

  • 4+ years’ experience in solar sales, design, or installation
  • NABCEP PV Technical Sales (PVTS) Certification
  • OSHA 10 Certification

Working Conditions

  • Combination of office-based work and field/site visits
  • Regular client interaction and attendance at networking events

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work at a desk and computer for extended periods
  • Ability to travel to sites and navigate varied terrain
  • Comfortable working at heights, including climbing ladders and walking on roofs
  • Ability to use basic tools and technical equipment
