Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to join our finance team.
In this role, you will maintain accurate financial records, manage day-to-day transactions, and support our growing operations in a dynamic, service-based environment with international elements. This position plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting as we scale our innovative infrastructure-as-a-service model.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and classify daily financial transactions, including revenue from service fees, revenue shares, and project-related payments.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes: process invoices, track payments, reconcile vendor statements, and follow up on outstanding items.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and other financial records on a monthly basis.
- Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger entries and supporting documentation.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including preparation of trial balances and basic financial reports.
- Track and manage expenses, ensuring proper coding and approval workflows.
- Support payroll processing coordination and expense reimbursements.
- Maintain organized financial filing systems (digital and physical) in compliance with company policies.
- Assist in preparing documentation for external accountants, auditors, or tax professionals as needed.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in accounts, collaborating with team members to ensure accuracy.
- Contribute to process improvements in bookkeeping workflows to support company growth.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of bookkeeping or relevant accounting experience, preferably in a service-based, project-oriented, or startup environment.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar); experience with cloud-based tools is a plus.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (debits/credits, accrual vs.
cash basis).
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling financial information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data reconciliation).
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus, given our focus on operations in Mexico.
