As they continue to expand their footprint within the data center power infrastructure market, our client is seeking a hunter-mentality Sales Engineer – Electrical Infrastructure (Data Centers) to join a dynamic and fast-growing organization.

This role is critical to driving adoption of IPM and other advanced solutions by identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and supporting the rapid global deployment of data center infrastructure. The Sales Engineer will be on the front lines of expanding our client’s presence and growth within the data center market.

General Description

The Sales Engineer – Electrical Infrastructure (Data Centers) is responsible for developing technical solutions and driving revenue growth within the data center sector. This role blends technical expertise with strategic sales execution to identify opportunities, support the design of electrical and electronic power conversion solutions—including transformers, switchgear, rectifiers, and DC-DC converters—and cultivate strong customer partnerships.

The ideal candidate brings a solid technical background in power conversion and distribution equipment, along with proven sales experience in the data center market.

Job Duties

Market Expansion

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the data center power infrastructure market, with a focus on expanding presence in key regions.
  • Develop and execute strategic market entry and growth plans aligned with company objectives.

Client Acquisition & Sales

  • Actively hunt and acquire new clients using industry knowledge, relationships, and market insight.
  • Conduct detailed needs assessments and tailor technical and commercial solutions to customer requirements.
  • Lead the full sales cycle from prospecting through close, ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded.

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact, addressing concerns and delivering value-driven solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional products and services.

Strategic Market Analysis

  • Perform ongoing market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats within the data center infrastructure space.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership on market conditions, customer needs, and competitive positioning.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of growth strategies and adjust tactics as needed.

Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Work closely with engineering, product development, and operations teams to ensure customer requirements are clearly communicated and delivered.
  • Partner with marketing to develop sales tools, promotional materials, and campaigns that support business development initiatives.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, customer interactions, and market intelligence using CRM systems.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for leadership outlining progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Ensure all contracts and sales documentation are completed accurately and on time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline required.
  • Proven sales success within the data center market required.
  • Strong technical knowledge of data center electrical equipment, including transformers, rectifiers, integrated transformer/switchgear systems, DC-DC converters, and power distribution systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
