Senior Project Manager - EV Charging

Salary – Up to $130,000, depending on experience

Location: California (Hybrid)

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Project Manager will play a key role on our construction team. They will be responsible for overseeing two Project Managers, the coordinating and the scheduling projects and resources to ensure that projects stay on schedule. 

The ideal candidate will be very detailed, organized, able to manage time and priorities.


Job Responsibilities

The following responsibilities are not limited to:

·      Hold all subordinates to the standard listed below.

·      Conduct weekly One on One Meetings with all subordinates assigned. 

·      Perform 90-day reviews to all new hires under your supervision. 

·      Perform yearly employee performance reviews with your subordinates. 

·      Coordinate multiple teams of installers and create accurate project schedules.

·      Project estimation and proposal writing.

·      Establish and maintain customer relationships.

·      Develop and submit Project Billings in a timely manner.

·      Perform Daily Project / Field Coordination.

·      Develop and maintain Project and Equipment Schedules

·      Ensure that Site Tracker is being utilized and updated in real time.

All dates , project comments etc are being updated as the tasks are being completed.

·      Attend weekly internal “One on One” Meetings with your supervisor.

·      Generate, research and answer RFI's both internally and externally.

·      Conduct and document weekly customer status meetings and keep minutes of the meetings.

·      Update projects , timelines and materials deliveries in Site tracker.

·      Attend / coordinate pre-con meetings on site.

·      Create a BOM for each project along with input from assigned Forman

·      Obtain updated Vendor Quotes and issue Purchase orders for the materials/Equipment.

·      Negotiate and resolve customer concerns and issues. 

·      Coordinate with field foreman, clients, and site hosts

·      Answer and maintain all email correspondence in a timely manner (within 24hrs or less)

·      Coordinate with all Utilities and AHJ for permitting and site requirements.

·      Obtain COI's (Certificates of Insurances) on all projects

·      Identify the necessary license requirements pre project and ensure that all licenses are in place in sufficient timeframe prior to the start of a project.

·      Obtain and review Specifications and cut sheets for equipment and materials and furnish input as needed for proper equipment selection, conduit/wire/equipment/pad /Vault/PME placement

·      Provide preliminary designs for customers based upon the customers’ needs / requests.

·      Approve and review invoices.

Match up material received to materials purchased. Assemble bid proposal letters Perform estimate reviews before submitting costs to customers

·      Maintain PTO requests in a timely manner.

·      Write up all customer proposals, set up bid review meetings and write scope letters for customer submission.

·      Immediate attention to all near miss, accident, and incident reports.

·      Attend and update project information in weekly internal meetings.

·      Site tracker biweekly updates for schedule and project comments.

·      Coordinate traffic control plans for street / right of way closures

·      Track / schedule purchase orders and deliverables with customer, utilities and AHJ.

·      Develop Schedule of Values

·      Provide accounting with billing info as required.

·      Develop and maintain Trackers for projects for weekly meetings.

·      Perform weekly job walks on site

·      Prepare and submit MOP's (method of procedures), Hot work, excavation- internal and external permits.

·      Provide prelim info for each subcontractor

·      Develop and maintain project Budgets/Costs

·      Review and Upload field Daily reports/Pictures to customer portals and Site Tracker.

·      Push on projects, provide constant pressure to drive projects through planning to obtain permits as required to start projects as soon as possible.

·      Look for and identify all items that may cause a slowdown in workflow and resolve issues immediately, so that construction can flow without delays, whether internal or customer driven.

·      Maintain a professional appearance.

·      Organize and maintain project documents.

·      Submit project related reports (as required).

·      Be prepared for and attend meetings with management, customers and internal teams.

·      Scan related documents into electronic folders.

·      Maintain accurate data and project status in Sitetracker

·      Champion of Safety and timely reporting including immediate reporting of safety related incidents/near miss events

·      Stay current and up to date on National Electric Code (NEC) and ADA requirements

·      Procure and schedule equipment


Engineering Support  

·      Full Support of Design Engineering effort.

Owning projects from “Cradle to Grave”. 

·      Electrical review of all electrical engineered projects.  

·      Coordinate with Engineers and resolve inaccuracies in drawing set. PM’s are Responsible for engineering oversights. 

·      Cross check plans vs existing site conditions to make sure design drawings are to scale and are accurate. 

·      Small Scale electrical Engineering/Estimating 

 

Estimating Support / Knowledge 

·      Utilize Accubid for Project estimates and Change Orders

·      Utilize Blue beam to do layout and mark up PDF files

·      Utilize Near Maps / Google Earth to obtain site images for estimating purposes.  

 

Admin Support 

·      Subcontractor, Setup/Onboarding/oversight 

·      Update site tracker with new client information. 

·      Complete and submit expense reports monthly in a timely manner. 

·      Submit all PTO requests in a timely manner 

 

Qualifications

Education and experience

Required:

·      Full understanding of EV and ADA requirements. 

·      Strong understanding of the UBC, NEC, Green, local and State building codes. 

·      Maintain CEU’s (Continuing Education Units) as required to validate all professional licensing requirements 

·      Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work in a professional environment, working both with internal and external customers.

·      Intermediate to Advanced computer skills (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook)

·      Professional, dependable, customer service oriented.

·      Ability to multi-task in in a fast-paced environment.

·      Excellent communication, both written and verbal. 

·      Organized - prioritizes work activities and time efficiently.

·      Detail oriented - demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness to ensure work quality.

·      Strong initiative and ability to problem solve.


 

Working Environment


•   Travel to and perform site walks.

Some out of state travel is required (20-30% travel) 

•   Normal Office Environment,

•   Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment

•   Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
