SALES REP - HOUSTON, SAN ANTONIO, AUSTIN, TX.
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Sales Representative to join our team at, a leading specialised electrical distributor. The successful candidate will be responsible for selling electrical equipment, low/high voltage switchgear, and critical power products to gen dealers or directly to commercial and industrial (C&I) projects. This role requires a proactive approach to building and maintaining client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and achieving sales targets in a competitive market.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales and Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities with general dealers and C&I project clients.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business.
- Promote and sell a range of electrical equipment, including low/high voltage switchgear and critical power products.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and quotations tailored to client needs.
- Market Analysis:
- Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
- Identify potential clients and decision-makers within target markets.
- Client Engagement:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their technical requirements and provide tailored solutions.
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure product specifications meet client expectations.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Sales Targets and Reporting:
- Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline status using CRM software.
- Provide regular reports on sales performance, market feedback, and opportunities to the Sales Manager.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams, including procurement, logistics, and technical support, to ensure seamless delivery of products and services.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to represent the company and build brand awareness.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
- Relevant industry certifications or training in electrical equipment or sales is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in the electrical distribution, switchgear, or critical power industries.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience working with general dealers or C&I project clients is highly desirable.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of electrical equipment, low/high voltage switchgear, and critical power products (or willingness to learn).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
