Director of Sales – Energy Storage Solutions
Job Summary
The Director of Sales drives revenue growth, manages profitability, and expands market share within their region. This hands-on leadership role develops and executes strategic sales initiatives, aligns sales objectives with business goals, and fosters a high-performance sales team. Reporting to the Vice President of ESS, the Director ensures customer satisfaction, optimizes processes, and collaborates across departments to achieve company success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing, customer-focused sales team.
- Define and execute regional sales strategies to drive revenue and profitability.
- Align sales objectives with overall business strategy and key performance metrics.
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Marketing to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Monitor market trends, anticipate customer needs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Oversee sales training, development, and performance management.
- Drive adoption of technology, CRM tools, and data-driven decision-making.
- Lead change initiatives to optimize the sales organization and remove obstacles to success.
Key Performance Metrics
- Achieve or exceed sales revenue, market share, and profitability targets.
- Ensure effective sales team structure, resource deployment, and job role alignment.
- Maintain strong customer and vendor relationships while driving business growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (technical background preferred).
- 3–5 years of proven success in sales, business development, or project management.
- 3–5 years of experience leading and developing sales teams.
- Strong B2B sales background, preferably in energy storage.
- Exceptional strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot).
- Willingness to travel within the U.S.
