Vice President of Sales – OEM & Specification
About the Role
A leading provider of wireless lighting control solutions is seeking a Vice President of Sales – OEM & Specification to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and lead strategic sales initiatives. This role is pivotal in strengthening relationships with OEMs, specifiers, and key stakeholders in the commercial and architectural lighting industry.
The ideal candidate will be a dynamic sales leader with deep experience in lighting controls, IoT, and smart building technologies, with a proven track record of scaling OEM partnerships, driving specification sales, and leading high-performance sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute a comprehensive OEM and specification sales strategy to accelerate revenue growth.
- Identify and capitalize on market opportunities to drive adoption of advanced lighting control solutions.
- Lead and expand a high-performing sales team, rep network, and key account management function.
OEM Sales & Business Development
- Drive long-term partnerships with OEMs, ensuring seamless integration of lighting control solutions into their product lines.
- Develop and negotiate strategic supply agreements and licensing partnerships with manufacturers.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to align solutions with OEM customer needs.
Specification & Channel Sales
- Build relationships with architects, lighting designers, engineers, and consultants to increase product adoption.
- Strengthen and expand partnerships with manufacturer representatives, distributors, and system integrators.
- Engage in education, training, and thought leadership initiatives to position the company as the preferred choice for wireless lighting controls.
Revenue & Performance Management
- Set and achieve ambitious revenue targets across direct and channel sales.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform product development and go-to-market strategies.
- Ensure strong sales forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM utilization.
Key Qualifications

10+ years of sales leadership experience in the commercial lighting, controls, or smart building industry.
- Proven success in OEM sales, specification sales, and channel management.
- Strong existing relationships with lighting manufacturers, architects, lighting designers, and rep agencies.
- Ability to scale revenue and sales operations in a high-growth technology-driven environment.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience closing large-scale agreements with OEMs and national accounts.
- Technical acumen in wireless lighting controls, IoT, and smart building technology is highly desirable.
- Experience managing distributed sales teams, rep networks, and channel partners.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
