About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Vice President of Sales to lead the commercial strategy, drive revenue growth, and expand market share within the lighting solutions industry. This role is ideal for a results-driven sales leader with a deep understanding of the commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors, particularly in outdoor lighting, poles, and structural products.

As VP of Sales, you will be responsible for overseeing national sales efforts, managing key accounts, and developing strategic partnerships across ESCOs, distributors, municipalities, DOTs, utilities, contractors, and large-scale developers.

The successful candidate will be a strong leader with experience managing rep agencies, direct sales teams, and national accounts to maximize growth opportunities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a national sales strategy to drive revenue growth across multiple channels.
  • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing sales team, including regional sales managers, rep agencies, and key account managers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with architects, engineers, specifiers, municipalities, utilities, and major contractors.
  • Drive new business development while expanding existing customer relationships.
  • Identify and capitalize on market trends, competitive opportunities, and emerging technologies within lighting infrastructure and outdoor lighting solutions.
  • Collaborate with product development, marketing, and operations teams to align sales efforts with overall business objectives.
  • Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to strengthen brand presence.
  • Establish and track key performance metrics (KPIs) to ensure sales targets and company goals are met.
  • Lead contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and national account management efforts.


Key Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in sales leadership within the lighting, infrastructure, or electrical manufacturing industry.
  • Proven track record in national sales, business development, and revenue growth within the C&I, municipal, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong relationships with ESCOs, DOTs, utilities, municipalities, contractors, distributors, and specifiers.
  • Experience managing and growing sales teams, rep agencies, and national accounts.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyse market trends and implement data-driven sales strategies.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with key clients, partners, and sales teams.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.

Internal notes

  • Potential Salary range:  Up to $200K
  • Car Allowance:               $10K

The Vice President, Sales and Marketing is responsible for the overall sales and marketing of all Hapco pole products. The position manages and directs, Regional Sales Managers, Marketing Managers, and Inside Sales Managers.


The position is responsible for setting and achieving annual sales goals and sales growth targets, plus ensuring all products are priced to produce corporate profit and market competitiveness.

·       Direct and manage Sales Managers in accordance with established policies and procedures to achieve corporate sales and profit goals. Assist Sales Managers in growing sales of Hapco products and maintain involvement with major accounts to establish long term relationships.

·       Identify and meet regularly with key customers.

·       Manage and direct the team:

o  Customer service and order entry activities.

o  Inside sales and develop pricing structures.

o  HAPCO marketing to maximize customer communications and sales.

·       Direct and coordinate HAPCO sales and marketing functions.

·       Develop sales strategies to secure new accounts and new market applications to ensure continued growth of sales and profits.
